National Security
WBK’s attorneys regularly practice at the intersection of technology and national security, helping clients navigate a rapidly evolving security and business environment.
We have deep experience advising clients on foreign ownership restrictions and other matters that potentially raise national security concerns to the U.S. government. In particular, WBK assists clients with proposed transactions subject to review by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) and the Committee for the Assessment of Foreign Participation in the United States Telecommunications Services Sector, an interagency committee that advises the FCC on national security and law enforcement issues associated with telecommunications, submarine cable landing, and other licenses (colloquially known as “Team Telecom”). Members of WBK’s National Security practice have held senior government positions with agencies responsible for these national security reviews and other cutting-edge national security challenges.
