WASHINGTON, D.C. – Wilkinson Barker Knauer, LLP is pleased to announce that Howard Liberman has moved his practice to the firm, joining as a partner effective today.  After beginning his career as an attorney with the Federal Communications Commission’s Cable Television Bureau, Mr. Liberman moved to the private sector where he has represented broadcasters (television and radio, commercial and noncommercial), cable TV operators and private radio licensees in the full range of matters relating to regulatory proceedings, transactions, and strategic planning and litigation, including FCC hearings and appeals of FCC decisions.  He also advises lenders and investors in the communications and telecommunications industries.  

 

A leading figure in the mass media communications bar, Mr. Liberman has served as co-chair of the Federal Communications Bar Association’s Mass Media Practice and Transactional Practice Committees, and received the FCBA’s Distinguished Service Award in 2009.  He has consistently maintained an “AV Preeminent” rating in both legal ability and ethical standards from Martindale Hubbell, and was named a Super Lawyer® in Communications Law for 2013, 2014 and 2015.  Mr. Liberman received his B.S. with honors from Emerson College, and earned his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.
