Caitlin Shields Moderates NARUC Cybersecurity and Telecom Panels – February 12, 2017

Caitlin Shields will be moderating two panels on February 12 at the upcoming National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (“NARUC”) Winter Committee Meetings.

The first panel, “Wireless Expansion: Distributed Antenna Systems & Small Cell Deployment”, will examine emerging wireless technologies, including small cell and distributed antenna deployment, as well as the potential benefits and public policy issues telecom providers face in light of ever-increasing data traffic.

Caitlin will also be moderating a panel at the Committee on Critical Infrastructure titled, “How Safe is Too Safe: Cybersecurity Cost Recovery in a New Era of Risk”. The panel will feature a discussion assessing regulatory incentives and cost recovery mechanisms for utilities making cybersecurity investments.

The telecom panel will be held in the North Ballroom from 9:00 – 10:15 a.m., and the cybersecurity panel will be in the Central Ballroom starting at 3:45 p.m.
