Bob joined WBK from AT&T, retiring after working there for over 30 years from his first job as a 4-1-1 operator in the old Bell System to his last job leading all of AT&T’s global political and regulatory operations across the world. While with AT&T, Bob played many different roles over the years including litigating arbitrations in the aftermath of the Telecom Act all the way to running AT&T’s FCC regulatory team during the net neutrality battles at the FCC.

His most challenging assignment was the five years he spent as AT&T’s Chief Privacy Officer grappling with the difficult issues created by a world moving increasingly towards a data-driven economy.  Bob and his team worked side-by-side with AT&T’s Big Data team to build the data policies around the creation of AT&T’s Big Data capabilities.  With the emergence of GDPR in the European Union and the California Consumer Act here in the U.S., those issues are becoming even more complex and challenging.  He has been at the front of the largest telecommunications policy debates of this century — drop him a note to see what our WBK Privacy and Data Security team can do for your company.
