DENVER, CO, AUSTIN, TX AND WASHINGTON, DC — Wilkinson Barker Knauer, LLP (WBK) is pleased to announce the addition of E. Glenn Rippie as a Partner in its Denver office. Glenn brings four decades of legal and senior business executive experience in the energy industry, working extensively with executive management and teams across finance, operations, rates, regulatory affairs, and communications to address complex legal, regulatory, and business challenges.

Glenn joins WBK following his role as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Commonwealth Edison Company (ComEd), where he led the company’s legal, claims, and damage prevention departments and served on its Senior Leadership Committee. Concurrently, Glenn served as Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel of ComEd’s parent company, Exelon, where his responsibilities included federal energy regulation, corporate and commercial transactions, and legal support for multi-state regulatory matters, infrastructure, and development across Exelon’s six operating utilities.

“Glenn possesses a rare combination of sophisticated energy experience, business judgment, and firsthand leadership within one of the nation’s largest utilities,” said WBK Managing Partner Bryan Tramont. “His perspective as both outside counsel and a senior utility executive will be tremendously valuable to our clients. We are excited to welcome Glenn to WBK and to add his deep regulatory, transactional, and litigation expertise to our strong energy practice.”

“Glenn is an outstanding addition to our Denver office and WBK’s energy team,” said Raymond Gifford, Managing Partner of WBK’s Denver office. “His deep industry experience and practical judgment will be a tremendous asset to our clients, and we are delighted to welcome him to the firm.”

Before joining ComEd and Exelon, Glenn spent many years in private practice, advising utilities operating in jurisdictions from California to Puerto Rico and representing clients before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. He has led teams handling government investigations, financing, rate cases, prudence disputes, and audits, with a particular focus on complex matters involving business strategy, finance, regulation, and utility operations.
