[Washington, DC] — Wilkinson Barker Knauer, LLP (WBK) is pleased to announce the addition of Stephanie Weiner as Partner in the firm’s Washington, DC office. She brings a wealth of government, academic, and private-sector expertise across telecommunications, broadband, spectrum, emerging technology, energy, and administrative law.

Stephanie joins WBK from the Georgetown Institute for Technology Law and Policy, where she served as a Senior Research Fellow and Adjunct Professor of Law. Before that, as Chief Counsel for the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, she led legal efforts supporting major federal broadband and wireless supply chain investments and advised on artificial intelligence, internet governance, children’s online safety, and spectrum policy. She has also served as Senior Legal Advisor to the Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission and as Senior Legal Advisor to the General Counsel at the U.S. Department of Energy.  Stephanie previously worked in private practice as a law firm partner, where she represented technology and energy clients in appellate litigation before the U.S. Courts of Appeals, as well as in regulatory and administrative matters before federal agencies. Earlier in her career, she served as Deputy General Counsel at Neustar, Inc. Stephanie began her legal career clerking for Judge David S. Tatel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit and Judge Milton I. Shadur of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Stephanie received her J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law, where she received the John Paul Stevens Award for Academic Excellence. She also earned an M.A. in Public Policy from the University of Chicago and an A.B. in Economics and Political Science from Brown University.
