WASHINGTON, DC — Wilkinson Barker Knauer, LLP (WBK) is pleased to announce that Belinda Scrimenti has joined the firm as a Partner in the Washington, DC, office. With over 35 years of experience in intellectual property rights, Belinda brings incredible insight and ability to the WBK Trademark and Copyright practice.
Belinda Scrimenti practices intellectual property rights at all stages of a brand’s life cycle, from counseling and clearance to trademark prosecution, enforcement, and litigation, and has a wealth of experience managing large domestic and international trademark portfolios. Her national litigation experience includes cases involving trademarks and copyrights in more than 40 federal court districts and divisions, as well as before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Belinda also has extensive experience protecting non-traditional marks on a global scale, including single-color, sound, and motion marks. She is a frequent author and speaker on IP issues, most recently in May as a panelist at the International Trademark Association (INTA) Annual Meeting on fraudulent filings at the U.S. Trademark Office, and last week moderating a presentation by the USPTO Deputy Trademark Commissioners on new Trademark Modernization Act filings and other current issues. She has served on numerous INTA committees and as Co-Chair of the DC Bar Intellectual Property Community Steering Committee.
“We are extremely thrilled to have Belinda join our trademark group,” said Mitch Stabbe, in a joint statement with Ronnie Raju, both Partners at WBK. “She adds great depth to our expertise, particularly in the areas of litigation and international registrations, as well as domestic trademark clearance, registration and policing.”
“We are pleased to welcome a Trademark leader of Belinda’s stature to our growing trademark group. Her deep experience in intellectual property rights for our clients’ traditional and non-traditional brands will be a tremendous asset to our team,” added Managing Partner Bryan Tramont. “In times of unprecedented challenges to rights holders, our team, led by Mitch, Ronnie and Belinda, is well positioned to protect and drive our clients’ portfolios.”
“I am very excited to join the WBK intellectual property team and add my experience to the depth of the firm’s practice,” said Belinda Scrimenti. “Having known Mitch and Ronnie for several years, I was already familiar with the high quality of the firm’s practice. Moreover, WBK’s well-known expertise in the communications, technology, internet policy, and related fields of privacy and cybersecurity provides me with the opportunity to offer expanded services to my clients, including several technology clients, whose intellectual property rights and businesses directly intersect with these areas in our fast-changing digital landscape.”
