Nicholas Alexander Joins Wilkinson Barker Knauer as Partner in DC Office

Wilkinson Barker Knauer, LLP (WBK) is pleased to announce that Nicholas Alexander is joining the firm as a Partner in the Washington, DC, office. Nick joins WBK with an extensive background in telecommunications law and policy issues, having served as a government attorney, in-house counsel, and in private practice.

After starting his career in private practice at an Am Law 100 firm, Nick spent close to a decade at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), where he served as a Staff Attorney and Manager in the Wireline Competition Bureau, as Special Counsel in the Office of Strategic Planning and Policy and as a legal advisor to three members of the Commission. He then spent over four years in-house with a major telecom provider, where he most recently led the company’s regulatory advocacy team as Vice President of Federal Regulatory Affairs. Nick has advised clients, FCC Commissioners and business unit leaders on how to craft policy and manage regulatory risk on issues ranging from customer privacy to open internet policy.

Prior to practicing law, Nick served as an Airborne infantry officer in the United States Army. Nick holds a J.D. from the University of Colorado School of Law and a B.S. in Industrial Management from Carnegie Mellon University.

“Nick has been a friend for many years and it is an honor to have him join the team,” said WBK Managing Partner Bryan Tramont. “We have worked with Nick as a colleague, a policymaker and as a client, and in each role he has emerged as a leader with remarkable intellect, strong character and a no-nonsense-get-things-done philosophy. When his organizations have faced their toughest challenges, the call goes out to Nick Alexander. We look forward to Nick bringing those skills to work for WBK’s clients.”

“I have had the opportunity to observe and work with the team at WBK in a variety of capacities over the years, and have always been impressed by the quality and impact of their work,” said Nick Alexander. “I could not be more honored and excited to join such an outstanding group of attorneys and advocates.”
