David Oxenford Brings His Broadcast & Digital Media Practice to Wilkinson Barker Knauer

Wilkinson Barker Knauer, LLP has announced that David D. Oxenford has joined the firm as a partner effective today. Mr. Oxenford represents broadcast and digital media companies in connection with regulatory, transactional and intellectual property issues. He has counseled broadcasters and state broadcast associations in matters before the Federal Communications Commission, the courts, and other government agencies for more than 30 years, and regularly advises clients on all aspects of broadcast law, including the rules dealing with political broadcasting, multiple ownership, noncommercial broadcasting, technical operations, and various aspects of content regulation. He also negotiates purchase and sale agreements and other types of broadcast transactions.

In addition to his broadcast practice, Mr. Oxenford represents digital media companies, including a number of Internet radio companies, before the Copyright Office, the Copyright Royalty Board, and other government agencies. He advises these firms on music royalty issues as well as on other general business and regulatory matters.

Mr. Oxenford has chaired several committees of the Federal Communications Bar Association, and sits on the Board of Advisors of the Thomas Jefferson School of Public Policy at the College of William and Mary, where he received a dual degree in government and philosophy. Mr. Oxenford earned his law degree (with distinction) from the Emory University School of Law. He was named one of the “Best Lawyers in America” in Communications Law by Best Lawyers® (2011-2012), was selected to “Washington, D.C. Super Lawyers” in 2012, and was honored as Associate Member of the Year in 2011 by the Texas Association of Broadcasters. He regularly speaks at state and national broadcast, webcasting, and music conferences and conventions.
