Alex Damato Joins Wilkinson Barker Knauer as Lead Policy Advisor in DC Office

Wilkinson Barker Knauer, LLP (WBK) is pleased to announce that Alex Damato is joining the firm as a Lead Policy Advisor in the Washington, DC, office. Alex joins WBK with an extensive background in telecommunications law and policy issues, having served most recently as Legislative Director to Representative Doris Matsui (D-CA).

On Capitol Hill, Alex led Congresswoman Matsui‘s legislative activity, including her communications policy efforts as Vice Chair of the House Energy & Commerce Communications and Technology Subcommittee. He also handled her work as a Co-Chair of the Congressional Spectrum Caucus and High-Tech Caucus in addition to serving as her Senior Technology and Telecom Policy Advisor.

Prior to Rep. Matsui, Alex served as a Telecom Policy Aide to Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV), advising Senator Manchin’s telecommunications work on the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation. Alex began his career on the Hill serving as a Legislative Aide to former Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA).

Alex is attending law school at American University Washington College of Law and holds a B.A. in Political Science from Colgate University.
