Pierre LaForce has been involved through most of his career in litigation matters, principally in the federal courts both in and outside the District of Columbia. He has also appeared frequently in the local District of Columbia courts and in several state courts, appellate and trial. Additionally, Mr. LaForce has had extensive experience in corporate and transactional law matters, both in an advisory capacity and as negotiator. Finally, Mr. LaForce has had substantial experience before state and federal administrative agencies, usually in a litigation context.
In the area of litigation, Mr. LaForce has been lead or co-counsel in several landmark decisions in the areas of financial institution regulation, Native American claims, Alaska Native lands legislation, natural resources development, corporate law and governance and employment law.
With respect to corporate-transactional law, Mr. LaForce has had substantial experience in the representation of large business interests in connection with merger-acquisition agreements, financing, licensing, joint ventures, strategic investments and general business agreements. This experience includes a demonstrated expertise in the negotiation and drafting of complex business agreements. Mr. LaForce has also served as a corporate and business law advisor to several businesses, U.S. and foreign.
Mr. LaForce has appeared before the Federal Communications Commission, the Departments of Justice, Interior, Labor, Defense, Agriculture, Commerce, and Treasury, Environmental Protection Agency, Federal Trade Commission, Federal Reserve Board, and Small Business Administration. He has also represented clients before several District of Columbia and state administrative agencies. |
